Bird Feeder

As I was gazing out my kitchen window this morning, watching all the activity at my 4 bird feeders - The Spirit of God whispered this verse to me. It is found in Matthew 6:25-26 which states in the Amplified classic version:

25 Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink; or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life greater [in quality] than food, and the body [far above and more excellent] than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they?

The Spirit then asked me this simple question - “Why do you feed them?” I thought about it a second and said “I enjoy watching them”. “I enjoy seeing them eat, fly around, they are colorful, they are all unique and different.” Then I sensed the Spirit say - “The Father enjoys watching you too.”

What an awesome thing it is that the Creator of the universe enjoys watching us enjoy our life. HE provides our even need so we don’t have to worry about what we will eat and drink in the same way I provide for all the various birds that visit my feeders. I do it because I enjoy it. I don’t even consider the expense of the food, time or effort as my joy far out weights all of that. The Father also doesn’t consider the cost which was the precious blood of His only Son Jesus. HE simply loves to see our enjoyment as we live a worry-free life in which we can praise and honor our heavenly Father.

What is truly amazing is how the Father values us. To Him, we are worth the death of His Son, Jesus so that we could enjoy fellowship with each other. I understand there is no comparison between my enjoyment of watching the birds and the expense I pay for that enjoyment, verses what the Father paid. But it is pretty cool to know that the Father enjoys watching me in a similar fashion as I enjoy watching the birds at my back-yard feeders. HE is truly an amazing Father. It would be worth your wild to get the know Him in a deep, personal way.
